Rachel Part II.

I left New York still negotiating with the American shipping agents about the practicalities of picking up a 400kg piece of boulder - and after negotiating a solution, the stone, work stand and two small boxes were collected and so the journey began...

The USA shipping agent organised the boxing up of Rachel, ready for shipping on the high seas to Australia from New York.  Eight weeks later, and after many emails back and forth, the Sydney customs agents had finally got the item cleared, customs and charges were paid, and the box was delivered into a warehouse in Botany.

Now came the really difficult part, how to get this beautiful round item up to the first floor of my Cooper Street Studio, that had no direct lift access and was too big to fit through a window?

In this photo ^ you can see the box partially broken up with the stone and a new  work stand in the foreground.
